Middle-Eastern Spicy Meatballs
I adore meatballs of any kind but these might just be my favorite. Spicy, flavorful and delicious, there are many ways to serve them.
I adore meatballs of any kind but these might just be my favorite. Spicy, flavorful and delicious, there are many ways to serve them. I just love having them in the fridge to snack on but serve with rice or on a bed of hummus with tomato cucumber salad on the side for an easy dinner. The meatballs can also be served as part of a mezze platter.
Recipe:
1 lb ground beef (or turkey).
11/2 tsp salt or less according to your taste
1/2 tsp ground black pepper or less according to your taste
3-4 minced garlic gloves (I used small garlic cloves)
1 tsp ground paprika
2 tsp ground turmeric
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp Aleppo chili pepper or cayenne pepper, less if you don’t like spicy
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground sumac
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tbls toasted pine nuts, chopped
3 tbls chopped parsley
1 egg
1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
Steps:
Mix everything together and using a small ice cream scoop, scoop balls onto a piece of parchment paper.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the meatballs, browning on all sides.
