I adore meatballs of any kind but these might just be my favorite. Spicy, flavorful and delicious, there are many ways to serve them. I just love having them in the fridge to snack on but serve with rice or on a bed of hummus with tomato cucumber salad on the side for an easy dinner. The meatballs can also be served as part of a mezze platter.

Recipe:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey).

  • 11/2 tsp salt or less according to your taste

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper or less according to your taste

  • 3-4 minced garlic gloves (I used small garlic cloves)

  • 1 tsp ground paprika

  • 2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp Aleppo chili pepper or cayenne pepper, less if you don’t like spicy

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 1 tsp ground sumac

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tbls toasted pine nuts, chopped

  • 3 tbls chopped parsley

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs

Steps:

  1. Mix everything together and using a small ice cream scoop, scoop balls onto a piece of parchment paper.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the meatballs, browning on all sides.
