We buy those bags of Cutie tangerines all winter longer but by March they just hanging around the fridge drawer, sad and ignored. Here’s an easy way to use them up and make a delicious frozen treat. A high-speed blender is necessary here as the tangerines are blended frozen and make sure your tangerines are seedless to avoid a bitter fail that ends up in the trash.
Recipe:
8- 10 Cutie tangerines, peeled and frozen on a sheet pan.
1/2 – 1 cup cup coconut cream, preferably refrigerated
Maple syrup to taste, optiona
Steps:
Place frozen tangerines in a high speed blender and blend. Be patient as it takes time for them to break up. Add the coconut cream and blend until smooth.
Add maple syrup to taste if like your sorbet more sweet.
Scoop the sorbet into bowls and serve.
If making in advance, freeze the sorbet in a freezer-safe bowl. When frozen solid, blitz in a food processor until smooth and then freeze again. This will ensure a really creamy sorbet.
