The ultimate winter comfort food for all generations. Use whichever ground meat (or meatless product) you prefer (adjust broth accordingly)and HOT TIP – add cauliflower mash to the potatoes for an extra vegetable….

Ingredients:

  • 11/2 lbs/ 750g ground beef

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 2 carrots, diced

  • 1 – 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme

  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Mashed Potatoes:

  • 11/2lbs russet potatoes, peeled

  • 1 bag frozen cauliflower mash, thawed

  • 1/3 cup milk, warmed

  • 4 tablespoons/ 50g butter

  • Salt & WHITE Pepper to taste

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese, plus more for sprinkling
