That cinnamon-butter cloud would hit first… and suddenly everyone was in the kitchen.
If you love cinnamon rolls but not the commitment, this is the move. Cozy, nostalgic, and dangerously easy.
Recipe:
2 cups self-raising flour
2 oz butter
1 tablespoon sugar
Pinch of salt
1 egg
3/4 cup of milk
Cinnamon Sugar wash:
2 oz butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Preheat oven to 425°F
In a bowl, rub the butter into the flour, sugar and salt. Beat eggs and milk in a small jug and pour over the butter/flour mixture. Stir together until just combined.
In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Roll spoonfuls of the dough into the cinnamon sugar/ butter mixture and place into a greased baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Serve with good butter.
